"there is only one Jesus Christ and all the rest is a dispute over trifles"

-Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth was one smart cookie. she said these words during a time in Englands history where the big question/ debate/ controversy was Catholic vs. Protestant. From what i remember from history class (and please correct me if im wrong) England was formerly ALL Catholic, but at this time it was about half catholic, half protestant (thanks to king Henry VIII and his "need" to divorce or behead his wife :-p) but because of this Englands world went all topsy turvey.  Now we all know, if we've taken a Shanahan class, religion is never REALLY the root of wars even if its what people say it is. But that brings up my question for today, Why do we seem to always debate the small things? especially pertaining to religion and the things we won't know are true until we are dead? what is right or wrong? i mean its good to talk about things like with predestination (oh yes i did! i opened this can of worms!!) but why get into heated debates and even fights over things that we won't know for certain? or at least until we are dead? so i think that Queen Elizabeth had the right idea when she said "there is only one Jesus Christ and all the rest is a dispute over trifles"  because if we have Jesus all the rest will fall into place and we really don't need to fight. because it would be fighting over the small things, and thanks to shanahan we know that its not the real reason you're argueing :-p

i think that'll do for my post for the month!
oh by the way... this is not directed towards anyone or instance.. just a general thinking post!

God bless! :O)

Blessings in disguise!

my life is just full of these wonderful things called blessings in disguise! many of the major events in my life have been so. for instance when i had to repeat 5th grade at the time i thought it was the WORST thing in the world and that i'd never get over the embarassment... but if i hadn't i wouldn't have had any the friends i have today and i probably wouldn't be in Millersville and i don't think i would be the same person or as close to God as i am now. Now more recently there has been a blessing in disguise... this whole haveing the praxis cancell on me and not getting into the ELED department. i know that it is a BLESSING, because if i had taken it ... 1. i probably would have done poorly because i didn't get extended test taking time 2. i would have been held hostage in the dorms,( because the leave of absence is why i am getting out). 3. i would have not have been getting a car... which is unfortunately in todays socitety rather needed...... there are some many other blessings that have and will come with each day and i KNOW that God's got it undercontrol!! it just makes me laugh to see how it turns outthat the things i thought were the 'end of the world' really work out for the best and have become Major blessings in my life!!
** now you can post some of the blessings in your lives! its only right this time of year to count our blessings!
